The efficiency and power output of solar panels are improving dramatically every year. We looked across a variety of sources to determine the average power (watts) per panel, for both utility-scale and residential projects. We will update this each year.
- The average power of a utility-scale solar panel (module) in 2020 is 380 watts.
- The average power of a residential solar panel (module) in 2020 is 316 watts.
