Tips for Writing an Amazon Review of Freeing Energy

TWO THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR REIVEW

First:

Every review matters. Your review doesn’t have to be long or be a literary work of art. Just write down your genuine impressions of the book so that other potential readers can get the richest sense of the book before they decide to read it themselves.

Amazon is also more likely to recommend a book to other customers if it has more reviews.

Second:

Amazon prioritizes reviews written by customers that have purchased the book. They refer to these reviews as “verified purchase.” This is not a requirement but good reviews by people who paid for the book increases the chances that Amazon will promote the book to others.

OK, now onto writing reviews.

If you need a refresher on the steps to take to get to Amazon’s customer review pages, read Section 1 below. Otherwise, jump right to Section 2 which offers ideas for writing the review itself.

1. HOW TO WRITE A REVIEW ON AMAZON

If you haven’t written an online book review before, it’s easier than you think.

Start by going to Amazon’s page for Freeing Energy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1732544646/

Click on the review count to be taken to the review section of the book’s page

NEXT: Now that you are on the review section, click on the button on the bottom-left.

NEXT: You are now ready to fill out the review. You will need:

  • An overall rating, from one-star to five-stars (the best)
  • A short headline (see examples below)
  • (optional) A photo of the book
  • A written review

See below for tips and examples of other reviews.

2. TIPS AND EXAMPLES OF AMAZON REVIEWS

THE HEADLINE

Use this one-line field to summarize the book or make the case that others should read it. Here are some examples of headlines from previous Freeing Energy reviews.

  • “A Comprehensive view of the past, present and future of our quest for energy”
  • “Inspirational book for aspiring clean tech entrepreneurs”
  • “Great combination of deep research and personal stories.”
  • “Great book for all background levels with a refreshing optimism”

Other ideas:

  • “I enjoyed this book”
  • “A wide ranging and easy to read book”
  • “I had no idea how broken our electricity system is”

THE REVIEW

The review itself can take any direction you like.

  • What did you like about the book?
  • What did you learn that surprised or inspired you?
  • Summarize your favorite parts
  • Add your own insights about the book’s topic areas
  • Share why you disagree with ideas in the book

Here is a collection of reviews already written on Amazon that might help spur your own creative ideas.

  • “If you’re looking for a refreshingly optimistic, yet cogent, 0% fluff account of what solar energy- and the world will be like in the coming decades, don’t pass this one up!”
  • “Solar, batteries, and other renewable energy technologies are the future. It’s great to see an easy to read, well researched book that doesn’t bury the reader in jargon and policy-babble.”
  • “I have really enjoyed the book, particularly the Audible version. It is an excellent book for anyone that is interested in solar, energy storage, micro-grids, electricity, and clean energy – including students, energy professionals, business people, and more.”
  • “As Bill Nussey demonstrates in this fascinating and deeply researched book, we are in the midst of an unprecedented transformation of our energy system, one that will ultimately touch the lives of nearly every person on the planet.”
  • “What Bill has done is really extraordinary. He has taken a topic that could be dry and riddled with jargon, and he has brought it to life in a book that is as informative and readable as it is enlightening and inspiring.”
  • “Well written, good information and interesting personal stories — not only about renewable energy but also about the impact of solar energy in developing countries, particularly Africa.”

Every review matters. Your review doesn’t have to be long or be a literary work of art. Just write down your genuine impressions of the book so that other potential readers can get the richest sense of the book before they decide to read it themselves.

Thank you.
