How many birds are killed from wind turbines per kilowatt hour?

Any bird death is regrettable but wind turbines generate a massive amount of electricity compared to a small number of bird deaths. In fact, for every 1,000,000 kilowatt hours of electricity generated by wind, one bird (on average) is killed. This means that if a person’s entire lifetime usage of electricity were powered by wind, only a single bird death would result.
